With all of the negative publicity surrounding Windows vista and talk about Windows Seven in the years to come, I decided to point out ten things I like about Windows Vista. I am not a Microsoft advocate and never have worked for Microsoft either, I just like many others had limited choices when It came to using Windows. In a pinch I needed a new computer to replace an unexpected melt down. With it came Windows Vista, admittedly I had a hard time even opening the box knowing what lay inside. The OS that so many loathed was pre-installed on my new machine. I was worried about how it would perform with my applications. I wondered if i was going to reformat the drive and install Linux or XP after pounding my fists in frustration.

Surprisingly I found so many of the features of Windows Vista enjoyable and useful. Had I fallen onto the Hate Microsoft bandwagon in the years prior without considering what Microsoft has done to make our lives better? All of the negative publicity surrounding Windows Vista had prejudiced my view of the OS before ever really using it. There were things I hated about XP and yes there are some things I hate about Vista, that I will talk about some day down the road. I decided to start out positive and show some of the good things about Windows Vista.

The first of ten things I like about Windows Vista is the stacked Windows view. If you are like me and multi task on the computer then you probably already know about this feature, unless you are not a Windows Vista user. You can flip between active windows in your desktop and view them all in one shot. See the screen shots below. Now you can pick between applications or see what you have running in your machine in real time. To start this preview, click the button in the picture with the red arrow. This should be located in the bottom left corner of your screen near to the start button. It is a bit like therapy to point out some of the good things about Windows Vista. I will however get to the bad later.
